Welcome from the Seadrift Chamber of Commerce and thank you for visiting our site.  Seadrift is a small town with a LOT of history! We encourage you to explore our site and learn a little about our heritage and what we have to offer.  Please let us know what you think or if you have any questions by commenting on any one of our pages or posts.  We look forward to assisting you with finding more information about our community or just chatting about the laid back Seadrift lifestyle.

Just like our town we are always developing our site as well so please check back often for new features, information, and current events.

The Second Annual Shrimpfest Adult Co-Ed Softball tournament came down to the very end. Team TX Express of Victoria coached by Corey Villareal won the round robin tournament in the final round 12-5 over Roster Check of Katy coached by Alex Garza. Both teams went undefeated until the last game. Villareal’s team defended their title from last years Shrimpfest tournament and has remained undefeated for two years straight!

The tournament came to a conclusion with an impromptu Home Run Derby. Players paid $10.00 and were allowed 10 swings of the bat. 8 contestants competed in the competition which ended up going two rounds. The winner Kacy Slusher of the Victoria area came through hitting 8 home runs out of 10 swings. Another tournament is being planned for the fall of this year.

Thanks to all that of the teams that participated, the umpires, Shirley Caldwell, Norvell Caldwell and Jackson Gordon for organizing yet another successful softball tournament!

Thank you to the 2010 Shrimpfest Sponsors:

Super Time at Shrimpfest 2010

Posted on 14 Jun 2010 In: General

The 30th Anniversary of Shrimpfest Seadrift, Texas has come and gone. Everyone had a stellar time, there was plenty of shrimp meals to feast on, tournaments, helicopter rides, music and best of all friends! Many attendees grew up in Seadrift or in near by towns and come back each year to see old friends and reminisce growing up in the happenin' little coastal town.

Rebecca Statler Ellard wrote on Facebook, "Oh must say that this years Ms Bayrat was the best Yet! Awesome job by the Contestants! I was ROLLING Laughing!"

It's amazing to see the bay front's transformation each year. For 2010 the Seadrift Chamber brought in a second stage and tent to cool off under, the windy breeze kept some of the heat away, but the tin boat race and other events had to be canceled due to the weather. It did not stop Shrimpfesters from having a good ol' time.

Cindy Goff posted on Facebook, "The whole family enjoyed Shrimpfest w/the youngest (14) flying on the helicopter!!! Terrific time cannot wait 'til next year!!!"

30th Anniversary merchandise quickly sold out, it was evident everyone wanted to keep a momento of the 30th year. Our website received 3,000 hits in the last month alone, visitors came as far away as the UK! No joke... The Shrimpfest page on Facebook  had over 700 fans when the gates opened June 11th and continues to grow in numbers.

Thanks to all that volunteered, thanks to all that helped plan this event since 2009 and to all that attended. The Seadrift Chamber looks forward to next year and stay tuned for more info about contestants that won events and photos.
