Shrimpfest 2010 marks 30 years

Posted on 22 Jan 2010 In: Shrimpfest

Shrimpfest 2010 has been set for June 11th and 12th. Chamber members are already hard at work on the annual event. 2010 marks 30 years in the making and the Seadrift Chamber wants to make this year's event "extra" special. Check back soon as information will be posted as soon as possible! Members have already finalized events, entry fees and will soon announce the evening's headliners. With the amount of positive response received from the 1st Annual Co-Ed Softball Tournament the Chamber will host the 2nd Annual Co-Ed Softball Tournament on the 12th of June in conjunction with the 30th Annual Shrimpfest.

All the hard work of the Seadrift Chamber of Commerce members paid off in 2009 with a record income for its annual Shrimpfest. The three-day event held June 12th through 14th of 2009 had an attendance of over 3,000, resulting in profits 3-fold over the 2008 event. There were many new events and participation was up in many of the old events. Many children found fun and entertainment, as recorded by the number of tickets (over 1,300) sold for kids games.

New graphics, t-shirts and promo items will be developed for the 30th Annual Shrimpfest! So mark your calendars as there will be much more in store this year! Sponsorships will be available in different levels and will be announced soon. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or volunteering please contact Chamber president, Cindy Alford at 361.785.3424 or post a comment here.

With direct access to such "Texas gems" as the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, and Matagorda Island, Seadrift also boasts some recreation of its own. Water sports of all kinds are easily accessed from our Bay Front Park, with its own harbor, public boat ramp, playground, and pavilions, as well as several nearby beaches.
