Typical recreational activities often include fishing, boating, sailing, wind-surfing, water-skiing. bird watching and much more.  Freshwater and saltwater fishing are central attractions to the Seadrift area.   Fishing can also be enjoyed from the Bayfront Park sea wall, the new public pier, or wading fishing. The Seadrift harbor has boat stalls for lease, and a public boat ramp with two boat launches and a dock.

Seadrift also has several experienced hunting and fishing guides that provide trips for hunting wild game such as ducks and geese, or fishing for Redfish or Speckled Trout.

You can also buy fresh seasonal seafood specialties such as shrimp, oysters, crab, stone crab claws, and other seafood from local seafood vendors...often fresh from the boat.

Area restaurants serve everything from authentic Mexican food to fresh seafood.

Seadrift is a popular site for "Winter Texans," who come to take advantage of our mild winters and enjoy all the pleasures our community has to offer. RV Spaces can be rented from the Beacon 7 RV Park.

Matagorda Island State Park
Activities include camping, hiking, surfing, swimming, beach combing, bird watching, fishing, a passenger ferry, on-island shuttle, and scheduled tours.  Native wildlife includes Whooping Cranes, Peregrine Falcons, Brown Pelicans, Ridley Sea Turtles, and Horned Lizards.  The island marshes are important nursery areas for shrimp, oyster, blue crab, and sportfish such as red drum, spotted sea trout, tarpon, shark, mackerel, and flounder.

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge
Nearby Aransas Wildlife Refuge is a popular spot for avid bird watchers and nature hikers.  It offers you an opportunity to see and appreciate native wildlife such as deer including alligators, javelina, snakes, bobcats and whooping cranes in their natural habitats.  Activities include  hiking, birding, picnicking, and fishing.  There is also a Boardwalk and an observation tower overlooking the refuge and San Antonio Bay.
